Norman Adams 
Norman Adams

Norman graduated from The Queen's University of Belfast in 1978 with an Honours Degree in Economics and Accountancy.  He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982 and he became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1993.
In 1995, Norman was a founding partner of ASM Horwath, having previously been Senior Manager with Coopers & Lybrand.  Since 1995, Norman has focused on developing the firm's Dungannon based audit, accounting and advisory services to family owner managed businesses.  He also advises a range of private and public sector clients on financial controls, financial reporting and organisational reviews.

Stephen Sproule
Stephen Sproule

Stephen, originally from a farming background, is an old boy of Ballymena Academy and Omagh Academy.  He graduated from The Queen's University of Belfast in 1982 with an Honours Degree in Business Administration and Accounting.  After taking a year out, Stephen completed the Diploma in Accounting at The Queen’s University of Belfast in 1984.  He commenced his training contract with Coopers & Lybrand, Belfast in 1984 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1987.
In 1995, Stephen was a founding partner of ASM Horwath, having previously been a senior manager with Coopers & Lybrand in Amsterdam, Sydney and Belfast.  Since establishing ASM Horwath, Stephen has focused on developing the firms audit, forensic accounting and consulting services.

Michael McAllister
Michael McAllister

Michael graduated from The Queen's University of Belfast in 1984 with a first class honours degree in Physics and a PhD in Laser Physics.  He qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in 1991 and was a prize-winner in each of his professional examinations. 
Michael developed an extensive range of professional experience within the audit and corporate finance departments of Coopers & Lybrand, Belfast where he was a senior manager. 
Michael left Coopers & Lybrand in 1995 and was a founding partner of ASM Horwath.  Michael leads ASM Horwath's Magherafelt based Audit, Accounting and Advisory, Consultancy and Corporate Finance services.

Nicola Niblock
Nicola Niblock

Nicola graduated from The Queen's University of Belfast in 1986 with an Honours Degree in Accountancy and Economics.  Nicola then completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting at The Queen’s University of Belfast. In 1987, Nicola commenced her training contract with Price Waterhouse, Belfast and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990.

Nicola joined ASM Horwath in 1998.   Since joining the firm, Nicola has been instrumental in developing the Forensic Accounting department.

Brian Clerkin
Brian Clerkin

Brian graduated from The Queen’s University of Belfast in 1997 with an Honours Degree in Finance.  Brian joined ASM Horwath in July 1997 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001, having been placed in the top ten in Ireland in each of his professional examinations. 
A qualified Internal Auditor (MIIA), Brian specialises in Forensic Accounting and Internal Audit.  Brian heads up the firm's Internal Audit Division. He is the Head of Internal Audit for a range of well known public sector organisations.

Michael Nixon
ichael Nixon

Michael, graduated from The Queen’s University of Belfast with a First Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1984.  Michael trained with Price Waterhouse and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1987 achieving second place in Ireland in his Final Admitting Examination.
Post qualification, Michael spent 3 years in the Melbourne office of Price Waterhouse as a manager in the Corporate Services department where he was responsible for providing advice to a wide range of private and public bodies.  Michael joined ASM Horwath in July 2000 having spent 7 years as group finance director in a manufacturing environment where he was responsible for the finance function of a group of 5 companies with a turnover of £18m.
Michael specialises in providing corporate finance and consulting advice to a range of public and private sector clients.

Michael Williamson
Michael Williamson

Michael is a qualified management accountant (ACMA) with more than 20 years experience of working within the private sector. Michael has held a number of senior management posts with some of Northern Ireland’s best known companies and he has significant experience of financial and general management, strategy planning and investment. 
During his work in the private sector, Michael spent almost ten years in the hotel industry in a senior financial capacity and as the General Manager of Northern Ireland's two largest hotels. 

Michael has responsibility for our consultancy services in Belfast. He has led a diverse range of assignments in the public and private sectors, including organisational restructuring, strategic planning, investment appraisal, and project and development initiative reviews. He has been involved in a number of high profile tourism related assignments and he is frequently appointed to provide financial and operational advice on hotel related projects.

Alan Curry
Alan Curry

Alan graduated from The Queen’s University of Belfast in 1983 with an Honours Degree in Business and attained first place on the Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting in 1984.  Alan joined ASM Horwath as the Tax Director in 2005 and has overall responsibility for the taxation services provided by the firm.
Alan has over 20 years of experience in delivering tax compliance and tax planning solutions to a range of clients including sole traders, companies, trusts and high net worth clients and he is particularly experienced in advising owner managed businesses including the construction and property sector on tax strategies that are tailored to their business needs and appropriate to the business development cycle.

Alistair Cooke
Alistair Cooke

Alistair qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995 having previously completed the Accounting Technician exams and was placed 2nd in Ireland in his Professional Two examinations.
Since joining ASM in 1999 Alistair has been responsible for providing audit, accounting, taxation and consultancy services to a range of private and public sector clients from the firm’s Dungannon office. Alistair has also an active role in the provision of IT accounting solutions to a number of clients.

Mark McNeill
Mark McNeill

Mark is a Director with ASM Horwath. He graduated from The Queen's University of Belfast in 1991 with a BSc Honours degree in Accounting and completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting at Queen's University of Belfast in 1992. He trained with Fitch Chartered Accountants in Belfast and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995, and as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1997. Mark moved to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in April 2007 before joining ASM in April 2009.
Mark is principally involved in the provision of audit and tax compliance services to the Mid Ulster based clients, with a strong focus on the implementation of tax planning strategies for owner managed businesses.

Ian Finnegan
ian finnegan

Ian graduated from the University of Ulster with an Honours Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Accounting and Finance in 1992.

He joined O’Hare Chartered Accountants in Newry where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996. Ian was appointed a partner in the renamed O’Hare Finnegan firm in 2001.  O’Hare Finnegan joined the ASM Horwath Group in 2009.

In 2003 Ian became a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and this remains his area of special interest and expertise.

Ian is based mainly in the Newry office where he undertakes all aspects of general practice alongside his Insolvency and Corporate Recovery role.

Michael O’Hare
Michael O’Hare

Michael graduated from University College Dublin with a B.Comm in 1979.  He then spent 4 years in the Dublin offices of Craig Gardner/Price Waterhouse where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982.

In 1983 Michael became a partner in a local Newry firm where he remained until 1992 when he set up O’Hare Chartered Accountants.  This practice grew rapidly and by 2009, when they joined the ASM Horwath Group, there were 4 partners, 25 staff and offices in Newry, Dundalk and Dublin.

Michael is a general practitioner providing audit, accounting and business advisory services to owner managed businesses throughout Ireland.

Ronan McGuirk
Ronan McGuirk

Ronan joined O’Hare Chartered Accountants in 1998 and qualified as an Accounting Technician in 2000.  He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004 and a Chartered Tax Advisor in 2007.  In 2008, Ronan was appointed a Director of O’Hare Finnegan which joined the ASM Horwath Group in 2009.

Ronan is principally involved in providing tax compliance and tax planning services (with a strong emphasis on cross border issues) for clients in our Newry, Dundalk and Dublin offices.  He also advises a number of Audit and Accounts clients.

Brian O’Callaghan
Brian O’Callaghan

Brian graduated from University of Ulster Jordanstown in 1997 with an Honours Degree in Accounting.  He joined O’Hare Chartered Accountants in August 1998 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002.  Brian became a director of the firm in 2008.  O’Hare Chartered Accountants became part of the ASM Horwath Group in 2009.

Brian is focused on developing the firm’s Dundalk and Dublin offices providing audit, accounting and advisory services to owner managed businesses.
